   <description><![CDATA[ Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.  Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.  Add the cornmeal and stir until well mixed. In another bowl combine the milk, eggs, honey or maple syrup, and the butter or bacon drippings. Add the liquids to the dry ingredients and stir just until all are moistened. 

Pour the batter into an oiled 8 inch square baking pan and bake about 20 minutes or until done in the center and lightly browned. To test for doneness insert a toothpick or cake tester in the center. If it comes out dry the corn bread is done.

   <description><![CDATA[ Into large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. With pastry blender, cut in shortening until coarse crumbs form. Stir in cheese and celery seed; set aside. In small bowl, mix milk and eggs until well blended. Add milk mixture to dry ingredients; stir just until moistened. Pour batter into greased and waxed paper-lined 9x5x3 loaf pan. 

Bake in 350 degree oven 50 to 60 minutes, or until loaf is golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove; peel off waxed paper. Cool on rack.

   <description><![CDATA[ In large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar or
honey.  Let sit until bubbly.  Add molasses, maple syrup, soft butter,
salt &amp; cocoa, beat well.  Add 3 cups, bread flour &amp; beat 2 minutes with
an electric mixer or at least 200 strokes by hand.  Add 3 cups rye
flour &amp; mix until the dough leaves the sides of the bowl.

Turn dough out onto a floured surface &amp; knead until smooth &amp; elastic.
Sprinkle with a little white flour if it remains too sticky to handle.
When dough becomes elastic, stop kneading even if dough remains a
little clingy to fingers.

Place the dough in a buttered bowl, turn to coat all sides.  Cover &
let rise until double in bulk.  Punch dough down, turn out onto board,
knead a few times to press out air bubbles, cut in half &amp; cover with
towel to let riest 10-15 minutes.

Shape the dough into two round or oval ooaves &amp; place on a greased
baking sheet which has been dusted with cornmeal.  You may cut a cross
or other design in the tops with a sharp knife.  Cover &amp; let rise until
almost double in size.  Brush with glaze.  Bake in preheated oven 375
degrees for 15 minutes.  Turn oven to 350 degrees for another 20-25
minutes or until bottoms sound hollow when tapped.  Cool on rack.

Yield 2 loaves.

cranberries cook 15 to 20 minutes till cranberries pop and apples are
soft then mash with potato masher will still be slightly lumpy add
spices and zest cook another 5 minutes for flavor to blend. Cool for
putting in the bread, sauce will keep in fridge for 3 days makes 3
cups also can be served warm with dinner
